Add Courtney Love to the list of musicians baring their souls in tell-all memoirs. The former Hole frontwoman has signed a book deal with William Morrow to tell the story of her life and career.
Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins, announced Thursday that Love, 47, will "set the record straight" with the memoir. Love will pen the manuscript with New York Times best-selling author Anthony Bozza, who has co-written about Eminem, Tracy Morgan, Tommy Lee, INXS, and Slash, to name a few of his hard-partying subjects.
"Courtney is one of the most fascinating and provocative artists of our time, one of those rare performers who continues to reinvent herself time and again throughout the arc of her career," says Lisa Grady, Morrow's deputy publisher. "It's time for the public to hear her tell her story, as she lived it."
Currently untitled, the memoir will follow Love from her childhood with hippie parents, her wild-child adolescence, her earliest days with Hole, and then her legendary relationship and marriage to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide at age 27 in April 1994. The two had a daughter named Frances Bean Cobain, who is now 19.
Readers can look for the book sometime in fall 2012.
