Just two days after the tragic shootings at a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, Colorado, Christian Bale has released a statement expressing his sadness towards the horrible occurrence.
While en route from Paris with the rest of his co-stars, the 38-year-old star of the Batman trilogy wrote, "Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them."
Aside from the various statements recently released, Heath Ledger's father spoke out regarding his son's influential character the Joker from "The Dark Knight."
Kim Ledger told Australia?s Herald Sun that his son's role is not the cause adding, "We can?t blame Heath or the character. It?s (The Joker) fictitious. I don?t know what this does to the character.?
As previously reported by GossipCenter, alleged gunman James Holmes gunned down twelve victims and injured more than fifty after he busted into the Century Aurora Theatre on Friday during a midnight showing of the film.
Ledger's comments come after the alleged gunman claimed that he was "the Joker" and based his actions off of the character.
